  Can I keep my vehicle when I file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?                Can I keep my vehicle when I file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is a very common question asked during an initial consultation for bankruptcy? The answer to that question can be very simply in some instances and very complicated in others.                  If you plan on keeping the vehicle, it is currently upside down, the interest rate is reasonable and your payment is current most likely you are going to have the vehicle pass through the case and a reaffirmation agreement will be signed and you retain the vehicle and continue to make your payments.   A reaffirmation agreement is a separate agreement signed by the Debtor and the lender that essentially says that even though I filed for bankruptcy relief I will continue to be obligated to pay my debt.   Some reaffirmation agreements have their own challenges and that will be the topic of a future article but for the most part the vast majority are simply approved
